Good stuff.įinally, I loved how intense things got at the end. Also, I loved seeing Xefros gradually grow more confident and powerful. That>! “no I’m not okay”!< line right before you enter the Purple Car gutted me. I loved Joey’s slow awakening to her own sexuality and to the horrors of Alternia. Third, the character writing was perfect. It helped alleviate the issue I have with a lot of classic adventure games where it feels like they’re less actual games than gussied up visual novels that won’t progress until I click the right arbitrary thing with the right arbitrary thing. Second, I liked how there were multiple ways to progress through various segments. Yeah, it was basically Alternian Snowpiercer, but if you have to take inspiration from something, you might as well take it from one of the best movies ever made. I loved the train setting this was environmental storytelling at its finest, showing in immediate, practical ways the severity of class divisions on Alternia and how dangerous and arbitrary survival is for those lower on the hemospectrum. The animations might not have been as smooth as in Act One, but that didn’t bother me as much since the world was so brilliantly realized. So, I’ll start with the things I personally really liked.įirst, the art direction was fantastic. And please remember to hide your spoilers! Let’s try to keep things civil, so please try to keep all criticism constructive. It’s been three long years, but Hiveswap: Act Two is finally here! I wanted to make this thread so we could discuss the things we liked and the things we didn’t like about it.
